Marx Halle | Vienna, Austria
Artists: Đorđe Ivačković, Andrea Ivanović Jakšić, Ivan Šuletić
24-27 September 2020 | Vienna, Marx Halle
After two notable participations in previous years, Gallery RIMA will once again present Serbian artists this September at the prestigious Viennacontemporary art fair in Vienna. Despite the global situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and a reduced number of fair participants, and bearing in mind the success and significance of this type of appearance on the international art and gallery scene, Gallery RIMA gladly accepted the organizers’ invitation to take part again this year at Marx Halle.
Gallery RIMA is the only gallery from Serbia at this year’s Viennacontemporary, and along with two galleries from Ljubljana, it represents the sole exhibitors of modern and contemporary art from the former Yugoslav cultural space. During the four days of the fair, from September 24 to 27, Gallery RIMA will present three artists: Đorđe Ivačković, Andrea Ivanović Jakšić, and Ivan Šuletić. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to see Ivačković’s large-format paintings from the 1970s and 1980s, the recent body of painting-objects by Andrea Ivanović Jakšić, as well as paintings, drawings, and a unique object from Ivan Šuletić’s 2020 production.
As Austria’s largest art fair and one of the most promising in Europe, Viennacontemporary confirms its commitment and professionalism through the careful organization of the fair in accordance with all legal requirements and precautionary measures due to the Covid-19 situation. This year’s edition brings together 65 galleries from 16 countries, offering a comprehensive insight into contemporary European art production, with a focus on galleries from Central and Eastern Europe. Given the reputation of the participating galleries, as well as the fact that the fair attracts a large number of professionals—curators, consultants, representatives of esteemed museum institutions, and influential collectors—Viennacontemporary is the right place for Serbian artists and art to examine their own authenticity and position within the broader flows of the European contemporary art scene.
This year’s participation of RIMA Gallery at Viennacontemporary was supported by the Serbia Creates platform.
