In the months before his last hospitalisation Milan Blanuša stayed in his family home at Vršac, using “the good days“ to go down to his studio in the adapted wine cellar of the traditional „Swabian house“. Between the arched ceiling and the brick floor there were the sources of his vitality – the space and objects of the world of art – the printing press and tools, colours and brushes, papers with successful and unsuccessful impressions, portfolios with graphic prints and drawings, paintings turned toward the walls and sculptures resembling a miniature clay civilisation, living there together with their creator. Blanuša would usually sit on a chair, surrounded with new almost two-meter large canvases on which he worked slowly but persistently in the last two years, preparing them for an already agreed upon exhibition.
