Gallery RIMA at Viennacontemporary interantional art fair 2024

Gallery RIMA presents the prominent Serbian and formar Yugoslav painter Kosara Bokšan (1925-2009) at this years Viennacontemporary interanational art fair. Paintings and drawings created between the mid 1960s and late 1980s represent the most authentic segments of Bokšan’s opus and include series of pictures with the central motive of the Sun and Spirals of the Sun, as well as her most well known cycles - Icarus and Women-Mountains.

Gallery RIMA’s exhibition of Bokšan’s art (booth D19) is part of the new fair section "Context" that "draws connections between the innovation of today and the rich history of art in Central and Eastern Europe, demonstrating how the creative present emerges from an exciting recent past". The first Context edition is curated by Pernilla Holmes and aimes at presenting artist who were internationally overlooked in the past. "Internationally, the art comunity is evolving and looking at art history through a new, more inclusive lense", states Holmes and concludes that "important artists are finally getting their due."
